Yes a very good test. So far no corrosion and all that is happening is the water is evaporating and leaving behind the salts. When water is gone the cell still gives the normal voltage but little to no power but add more distilled water and salt substitute and Epsom salt to the cell cell and you get all your power back.

The materials in the first and second column of the periodic table will induce hydrogen from water. (if you put them into water) Magnesium and aluminum too. Zink does it only if the water is hot enough. You can not notice it yet, it is a slowly continous process. But for example, if you put natrium in the water, it will solve very very fast.

Well done IB, but if you put a lower ohmic load on it you will probably
see the magnesium ribbon decompose after a while, or does your Epsom salt and Pottasium Chloride prevent a galvanic reaction ?
Then how does it produce power, if the metals are not used up ?
Is just the water decomposed then ?

dude this is nothing new that! but if you want a hint: the crystal compressed you get the energy free
Good test, the results should be interesting.
