Can I use sulfuric acid instead of Epsom salt on my sealed lead acid battery?
One is 6Volt and the another one is 12Volt. Sulfuric acid got from auto parts store.
It could just be that the sulphate has built up so thick on the lead plates that not enough of the lead is exposed to keep that dead cell functioning.
Not a trick. It’s a method. I’m happy I found your channel, so I’ve subscribed.
So you have proved that Epsom salt does not work.
Your videos are too long and boring because you are rambling on about unrelated stuff and repeating too many things.
Stay on topic!
That truly is a very nice tester for the price. I compared the voltage readings with a Fluke, though, and found that the displayed voltage was off by around 0,2V. I opened the case and adjusted the trimpot next to the IC. Counterclockwise raises the voltage and vice-versa. Now It’s bang on. Calibration should be done with a healthy battery, otherwise the voltage will swing like crazy and you can’t get a stable reading.
HELP! where can i get one of them fancy shmancy meters? i need to recondition my electric bike batteries, which cant even power a treadmill motor for 30 minutes
Harbor Freight . com remove the spaces in the link, as Youtube doesnt allow link posting.
This is -the- best series on recovering 12v batteries on YouTube, period. I know there are some (minor) areas that aren’t in it – SLA alarm-type cells are easy, but also identical, just smaller. Some cheapy methods for charging too, the detail in this is Great. Very clear, easy to watch, TONNES of detail, really hands-on LOVE IT.

Hey, thanks! I appreciate the compliment. I can always use some extra motivation to keep making videos.
I can also always use more ideas as well for future videos and projects. So any ideas, let me know!
Compliments are nice, money is better ;o)
I’d like to buy one of your capacitating chargers, I had a look on your site & MWscoots – am I just being dim?
Give me a (broken?) link & I’ll come along with dollars.

Awesome. I added link in the description of this video. Let me know of any customization’s you might want.
Cheers!
Thanks Kman :n)
Hi Kman . hope you recovered from your cold faster than some of the batteries did from sulfation. Many thanks for that very instructive video, it was a real pleasure watching it. kkep posting your experiences, many thanks.
Fuck me dead you should have told me in the first video that it did not work. I would rather ave sent you the money to buy a new battery. But on the other and you have helped me as you have demonstrated Epsom salts does not ‘really’ work. Just change your title and it is a good myth buster video on the topic. Regards
At the end he says that his theory is that is does work, as long as the battery isn’t too damaged already. Good info in this series. At the very least, you can use them to arc weld if you don’t feel like buying a machine for it xD.
Sorry I was probably a bit of a smartarse with my first few words, but as I ended it was good to watch the theory and what did/did not work.
