when you noticed brown by the veins, did they look like burnt patches, ps did the epsom salt work, and did the plant recover?

Yes, the epsom salts were effective. I dont think that the leaves looked burnt. If you have a burnt leaf, it is most commonly caused by too much nitrogen fertilizer.
