You’ve already won half the battle by eating a healty diet. Since you’re not particularly trying to build muscle, it’s important to keep your heart rate up for an extended period of time. You can look online for a target heart rate. But for say a 30 year old a good target would be 120 beats per minute. If you maintained that heart rate for 20+ minutes by say jogging you’d get in really good shape. Four to five times a week is good. Working with weights is good also, but again use higher reps, 12-15 with short rest periods of only about a minute in between sets. Keep that heart rate up there. Good luck.
Cardio, cardio, cardio. Everyone has a six-pack, but it takes time to lose any fat on top of it. Cardio will burn the fat and core exercises will tone the muscle. Think "function" when it comes to exercise. What you do everyday has an exercise associated with it. Take a common exercise like the crunch and make it interesting – do it on a stability ball, stick on leg up in the air, hold a weight on your chest, or hold you hands behind your head. Twisting motions are good for your obliques (the sides of your tummy) and lying leg raises work the lower part. It’s all essentially one muscle, but you can target certain areas. Good luck!
running, squats and leg raises and crunches
The best way to work on core for me is to exercise with Swiss-ball or Gymnastik-Ball same thing! It very works!
